Slough in the Abstract
Photos by Greg Hofmann
a few words from the artist
These
photos are about seeing the slough with new eyes. When we're out on
the trail we tend to notice and register the natural beauties of plants
and animals and landscapes. This exhibit draws attention to the beauty
to be found in the lines, patterns, forms, and colors of the slough,
beauty that we sometimes miss. In the course of
his checkered career, Greg has earned a living as a radio program host,
singer-songwriter, gardener, truck driver in the SF Chinatown garment
district, music magazine editor, graphic design magazine editor, freelance
writer and book editor, CD-ROMzine editor, managing editor at a corporate
website, and, at this writing, webmaster for the Elkhorn Slough Foundation.
In this capacity he has put his digital camera in overdrive to document
the life and times of the Slough in the Photographer's
Day Book.
