"This event
particularly touches me since the Elkhorn Slough IS my
backyard. I fell in "love at first sight" in 1988 when
seeing the Slough for the first time while volunteering for
a stint as docent. So complete was the love that I convinced
my husband that a home in the area was necessary, and in
1993 we moved to our beautiful spot, a landscape painters
dream." -
