Lone Sentry
This month we are featuring a photograph by Jim Duckworth.
According to Jim: "We entered the slough on a very foggy early morning and rounded Seal Bend at about sunrise. The sun rays through the fog created a golden reflection over the water. This lone great blue heron standing on the remains of an early slough creation caught our eye as a solitary sentry of the past."
Equipment: Nikon D300 digital SLR camera with a Nikon 80-400 VR lens. Aperture priority at f/11 and a shutter speed of 1/320. Spot exposure off the heron. ISO of 640.
Jim is a retiree and amateur nature photographer who paddles the slough often in search of interesting photos of wildlife to share.
