7/3/06: This month we feature another photo by Jim Duckworth. This photo was taken in January of 2004 from a sea kayak while floating in Moss Landing Harbor near the entrance to Elkhorn Slough. Here is how it went down... "As always, I had my camera in hand and as the otter came up to the surface near the kayak and looked right at me. I was lucky to get this candid shot of a surprised sea otter. He quickly dove out of sight."
 
Equipment used: Nikon D70 digital camera with Tamron 28-300 XR Di lens. No filters.
