White-tailed Kite
This month we feature a photograph taken last February by local photographer Ted Belleza.
"I was on my regular weekend afternoon walk along the many trails of the Reserve when I heard the familiar shriek of a raptor over a grove of oak trees to the north of the visitor center. I saw a pair of white tailed kites hovering over the trees and a red-tailed hawk not far away. One of the two kites hopped from one perch to another and I was fortunate to take several exposures."
Equipment used: Canon EOS 20D; 100-500mm f/4.5-5.6 LIS; Hoya UV filter
