Calling all photographers!
The Elkhorn Slough Foundation (ESF) is excited to announce an open call for photos for use in our 2011 calendar! Images must be taken in the Elkhorn Slough watershed and may feature diverse subject matters including landscapes, wildlife, plants, and people. Winning entries will be featured in our full color, 8.5x11, 2011 Elkhorn Slough calendar. All proceeds of the calendar benefit ESF’s work to conserve and restore the Elkhorn Slough and its watershed.

How to Enter Images:
Photos may feature any appropriate content, provided the photo is taken in the Elkhorn Slough watershed. The watershed encompasses Moss Landing Harbor, the slough channel and the Reserve, as well as the surrounding hills and upland habitats. We encourage you to submit diverse subject matters. Please do not submit photos more than two years old. Minor burning, dodging and/or color correction is acceptable.

Resolution:
Photographs must be submitted in digital format. For the contest, please only submit a small JPEG of your image NO LARGER THAN 1MB file size. If we select your image as a contest winner, we will contact you to get a larger version suitable for printing (8.5 x 11 inches at a resolution of at least 300dpi). If your photo is selected, but you are unable to supply it in at 300dpi or higher, we may not be able to include your photo in the calendar and we will select another winner.

Selected images:
Images selected by the Elkhorn Slough Foundation (ESF) will be featured in ESF’s 2011 calendar. Photographers of selected images will receive photo credit and a copy of the calendar, but no monetary compensation. Entrant agrees to grant irrevocable perpetual, nonexclusive license to reproduce, distribute, display, and create derivative works of the entry (along with a name credit) in ESF’s 2011 calendar as well as in other materials produced by the Elkhorn Slough Foundation. If your image is selected and includes identifiable people, a model release will be required.

Photographers:
We encourage everyone with a great slough shot- amateur or professional- to enter. Each entrant may submit up to 5 photos. By submitting a photo, entrant agrees to all contest regulations. Selected photographers will be notified in September or October of 2010.
