Within the watershed, strong partnerships are essential for the conservation and management of natural resources of Elkhorn Slough. These partners include California Department of Fish and Wildlife, the Elkhorn Slough Foundation (ESF), the Natural Resources Conservation Service, the Resource Conservation District of Monterey County, the California Coastal Conservancy, and The Nature Conservancy. The interlocking work of these organizations and agencies provides a platform for the successful completion of key conservation goals in the watershed, and will insure the permanent protection of wildlife and habitat in the central Monterey Bay region.
