Since 1982,
The Elkhorn Slough Foundation has worked behind the scenes to:
- protect
the land and waters of Elkhorn Slough by acquiring and managing
critical conservation parcels
- work
with Department of Fish and Game to implement teacher training
and school programs serving over 10,000 students per year
- build
a wheelchair access along the slough shore
- restore
vital oak woodland and marsh habitats
- work
with state and local partners to develop a full spectrum of
interpretive and educational materials highlighting Californias
premier coastal wetland.
- provide
support to the Department of Fish and Game and National Oceanic
and Atmospheric Administration at the Elkhorn
Slough Reserve
- manage
a natural history bookstore at the Elkhorn
Slough National Estuarine Research Reserve's visitor center
