Artist in Residence, Spring 2017

Emily Underwood is a Californian inspired by the landscapes that surround her and everything that lives and grows on them. She creates art to convey her enthusiasm for the natural world, blending her background in both science and art. Her work is a product of direct observation; she paints outside, or from sketches done in the field.

Emily’s illustrations have appeared in interpretive panels, posters, magazines and journal articles, books, and museum exhibits. She has exhibited her artwork in many solo and group exhibitions.
