Event Details

Join us for a free guided nature walk every Saturday at 10 AM through July 22! You will visit coastal prairies and learn more about the special habitats surrounding Moro Cojo, a local waterway. Meet at Rancho Moro Cojo Park in Castroville. Here is a link to a map: https://goo.gl/maps/UBoEvvLiyhT2. Wear long pants and good walking shoes.

These nature walks are a product of our latest community partnership with North County Recreation and Park District to increase opportunities to experience nature in North Monterey County. The nature walks are lead by students from North Monterey County High School, which ESF partnered with three years ago to assist in bringing environmental education to the students. The Slough Crew program, which consists of an extra curricular club, and integrated classroom learning, features field trips to the Reserve, kayaking tours, Earth Week events, and a range of environmental experiences.
