Picture the work behind conservation...

Into each life a little rain must fall...

It’s not your imagination – it has been raining a lot!  John Haskins, the Water Quality Specialist at the Elkhorn Slough Reserve, reports that this is the wettest March since we started collecting rain data in Elkhorn Slough nine years ago.  We got 5.8 inches in March, more than double the 2.5 inch average.  John also says we had measurable rain 28 out of 31 days. He put the numbers on a handy chart (see below).  Another way to measure it is by comparing the cover crop we showed you in January with how it looks today (the most recent picture sporting the blooms).
