Volunteers help clear trails at Long Valley property
6/19/06

These volunteers from CTB McGraw Hill in Carmel are clearing the road at Long Valley, so our members and community groups have access to this beautiful place.  The 425 acre valley has been virtually untouched and has wonderful stands of coast live oak, maritime chaparral, and pocket meadows on the valley floor.  When ESF acquired it in 1998, the bulldozers were already on the property, ready to begin work on 19 luxury home sites.

This was our third year in a row working with a CTB MH volunteer group and they’re getting to see much of the diverse landscapes we manage.  One year was at Kirby Park on the slough and another was at Moro Cojo.  We certainly hope to see them next year.

We are hosting a members only hike in Long Valley on Saturday, August 5th from 2pm to 5pm.  This hike is limited to twenty people.  Call 728-5939 to register.
