We’re still at it up on Sand Hill Farm, the good news is, the hard work is paying off and we’re seeing some amazing progress. We had a full week of contract labor removing drip tape and raking the old sheet plastic from the furrows. We also had hard-working volunteers and staff removing drip tape and irrigation pipe. We are happy to report that all the drip tape on the property has been removed!
The staff has compared the shape of the property to that of a hand, referring to different areas as “fingers”. In the “index finger”, gullies were filled and the field was recontoured and disked. Now all the upper fields are ready for establishing a cover crop, which is planned to for September.
