Charlie Moss (above) and Donald Beadle (as the S.F. agent)
sign a ten-year lease with David Jacks for use of the sand peninsula
(below, now Moss Landing). Until a pier is built, sacks of grain
are carried through the surf to small boats and are then rowed to
the transport ships.
