If you are interested in working in natural history interpretation and/or environmental education, the California Department of Fish & Game is offering exams for Fish and Wildlife Interpreter I and II to create new state hiring lists in these categories for the first time in 10 years! If you think that you might ever want to be an educator or interpreter at the Elkhorn Slough National Estuarine Research Reserve (or anywhere else with DFG in California) TAKE THIS EXAM! Fish and Wildlife Interpreter I and II are the classifications we use for the ESNERR Education Coordinator and Volunteer Coordinator. The Volunteer Coordinator position is currently vacant and on hold because of the statewide hiring freeze, but as soon as the freeze is lifted we may be able to hire off of these new lists. If you meet the qualifications for these exams, we encourage you to apply. You can find the bulletins on the DFG website at http://www.dfg.ca.gov/jobs/exams/ . The bulletins also provide a detailed description of the qualifications needed and access to the necessary forms.
