8/19/02: Large groups of Brown Pelicans (Pelicanus occidentalis) are a frequent sight in Elkhorn Slough, which is a key stopover in the pelicans' migration to and from their breeding grounds in Baja California, Mexico. Here two pelicans are stretching their pouches to keep them limber.
