Swimming Sea Slug

9/30/02: This aeolid nudibranch (Fabellina pricei) was observed swimming just below the water surface near the boat-launch dock in Kirby Park. These sea slugs normally crawl along the bottom, but occasionally they will get up into the water column to relocate, perhaps to find better feeding grounds or to escape a predator.
