A lunchtime outing to the fresh-water marsh at McClusky Slough, near Zmudowski State Beach, produced this shot of a nicely woven Marsh Wren's nest...


...and the Marsh Wren itself. These birds are expert at keeping their bodies near horizontal while perching on vertical reeds.
