One thing you learn as you get into birding is that you can't
always count on the birds to look like they do in the bird books.
I'm told these are Anna's Hummingbirds (Females? Juveniles?
One of each?), but they sure don't show the markings that the
guidebooks show.

Lately
these two have been hanging out in a Flowering Currant bush
near the Visitor Center. (To see an Anna's that looks more like

And of course the rookery continues to pay photographic dividends.
