Glimpses
into the natural history of Elkhorn Slough

August
7, 2003 second looks
Same parking lot, different light post, same woodpecker?
Don't know, but the Acorn Woodpeckers have been giving us some
good looks lately. (That's the
entry to a swallow nest below.)
These
Cliff Swallow chicks are in the same nest as the previous
photo of same, but these two are from a new brood.
Breakfast is served. Didn't we see this
guy in Caddy Shack?
Once again the
north marsh was a mecca for feeding birds. Note the white
pelicans at upper right this flock seems to be larger
and staying longer than it did last year.
Finally, another abstract
for our collection. Are we likin'
it?
