This odd-looking machine was making quite a racket on the railroad tracks by Kirby Park.



Here's a side view. This machine was tamping the gravel around the tracks to firm up the railbed. Hopefully this will repair some of the damage sustained by the railbed along the North Marsh, which, as we have seen, is being eroded by high tides.
