Kite Flying

5/17/2004: For the last few years there have been two pairs of White-tailed Kites (Elanus leucurus) nesting on the Reserve. You can often spot them perched at the top of the oaks south of the Visitor Center as well as those west of the overlook. Another good place to check is the tops of the poles along the lower part of the Five Fingers Loop Trail – as here.
