Snag a Heron

9/27/2004: The eucalyptus snag in Cattail Swale is a great place to find birds. Right now, you can still see Black-crowned Night-herons in numbers (if you approach very quietly), and you will also see the occasional Great and Snowy Egret, or even a Kingfisher. Today we got a less-than-usual visit from a Great Blue Heron, giving an especially good look at its toes.
