One Forster's Tern (Sterna
forsteri) catches a fish, and all of a sudden it has company
another tern and two gulls try to harrass the successful
tern into dropping its catch. This kind of mid-air piracy is called
"kleptoparasitism,"
and is practiced by many bird species, especially raptors. Jaegers,
skuas, and frigatebirds are notorious pirates.
