February 11, 2005 – Renteria pond revisited

It's been three weeks since we visited the little pond on the Renteria property.
Let's see what's new.

First, a better look at one of those freshwater snails we saw last time.

And the waterboatmen are still doing their thing.

Of course, what we really want to see is how the frog eggs are doing. This batch is coming along nicely.

But are they hatching? You bet.

Tadpoles by the hundreds.

Up close and personal.

We'll keep an eye on these little 'uns in days to come.

Here's a large adult Chorus Frog (about 1.5 inches) at pond's edge
.
