3/23/2005: Captain Yohn of Slough Safari informs us that this Harbor Seal (Phoca vitulina) pup was born on Saint Patrick's Day. It's just a week old but already busy exploring its world - in this case, some remnant fenceposts at Seal Bend (map). Harbor Seals are one of the most widely distributed mammals in the world.
