10/3/2005: We get a good look at the Western Fence Lizard (Sceloporus occidentalis). These lizards are also called "blue-bellies," for the color of the scales on the underside of the males, but this one's back is showy enough. It's this species that you'll sometimes see doing "pushups" – a domnance display.
