12/12/2005: The local crows have found a supply of walnuts somewhere in the neighborhood – it's not unusual to see one perched on a lamp post, walnut in beak. They have discovered, like other birds (vultures with bones, seagulls with snails), that dropping a hard object (walnut) onto a hard surface (parking lot) is the easiest way to crack it.
