| Marsh dodder is a yellow filamentous plant
which is typically found as a parasite on pickleweed (pictured below). K.
Wasson, A. Woolfolk, N. D'Amore, K. Hayes, A. Morrow, and S. Fork are attempting
to develop methods for transplanting marsh dodder. |

Currently, we are exploring a variety
of new greenhouse and field methods. If we can develop a successful transplant
method, we will carry out an experiment to determine how host-parasite dynamics
change under different nutrient conditions of the host. Nutrient levels
of pickleweed are being experimentally manipulated by researchers studying marsh nutrient dynamics. |
